Dear Parents/Carers,

Happy New Year. We hope you have had a happy and safe Christmas (albeit a little different to normal!). You will no doubt have seen the many and various news reports about the return to school for Primary aged pupils in January 2021. As it stands at the moment government guidance is that we will be opening from Monday 4th January. If anything changes we will let you know. We understand that many of you will have concerns and have updated our Covid risk assessment in order to ensure that we are working as safely as we possibly can. Any changes to the previous risk assessment are highlighted in red. We would draw your attention to the need for parents/carers to wear face coverings when on school premises. Should you have any concerns please do not hesitate to contact the school office.

Once again, thank you for your continued support during these challenging times. We will hopefully see everybody tomorrow.

We are ‘Outstanding’ - It’s official!

We are thrilled and delighted to be able to tell you that our school has been rated as ‘OUTSTANDING’ following our recent Section 48 SIAMS Church School Inspection. SIAMS inspection focuses on the effect that the Christian ethos of the church school has on the children who attend it and to evaluate the distinctiveness and effectiveness of the school as a church school.

Welcome to Bardney Church of England and Methodist Primary School

On behalf of the children, staff and governors I wish you a very warm welcome.

At Bardney Church of England and Methodist Primary School we believe our role is to ensure that all of our children achieve the best they possibly can. We do this within the context of Christian belief and practice in an environment that stimulates a love of learning.  We are committed to our mission statement of ‘Opening the door to learning’ within a Christian context of John 10:10 ‘to have life in all its fullness’. Through this we support our children to succeed academically, socially, personally, physically and spiritually, both inside and outside school.

The school environment is a calm and safe place where children feel they are able to ask for support and advice and are part of the decision making process.

We have chosen seven Christian values, Friendship, Trust, Compassion, Forgiveness, Honesty, Respect and Fairness, which we place a strong emphasis on to help create and sustain the Christian ethos of our school and develop a deep spiritual understanding. Our Christian values and ethos permeate all we do together.

Within our village school we have an extremely dedicated staff; teachers, non-teaching and support staff that support each child in reaching their potential. Visitors comment on our supportive team , the family feel of the school and our shared commitment to help every child in the school achieve their best.

We hope as you visit our website you will gain a sense of the value that we place in each child and our desire to ensure that high standards and pupil progress, in all areas, remain as high as possible within the caring and happy community which is Bardney Church of England and Methodist Primary School.

Thank you for visiting our website, I hope that you will find all that you are looking for However, please do not hesitate to contact us if you would like some further information or a visit where you would receive a very warm welcome.

I look forward to meeting you and showing you around our wonderful school.
