Important Information
Welcome
On behalf of the governors, staff and pupils we extend our warmest welcome to you and your child from Bardney Church of England & Methodist Primary School.
We feel at Bardney there is a special atmosphere that is warm and friendly, yet purposeful and engaging. Our intention is that your child enjoys their life at the school and achieves their full potential – academically, physically, socially and emotionally. We understand the importance of working with the local community and we strive to develop a trusting relationship between home, school and pupils.
Being a small village primary school gives us a unique opportunity to see every child as an individual and provide a personalised, happy and stimulating learning environment in which every child succeeds.
The very best way to get a feel of the school is to visit us. Feel free to contact us to arrange a look around the school, where you can meet our wonderful pupils and see what we have to offer.
We look forward to meeting you all and welcoming your child to our happy school environment.
Mr G Hicks
Headteacher

Welcome to Class 5, the summit of the mountain that is Bardney School. We are excited about the learning taking place this year, we are going to conquer information about various mountain ranges, become mountaineers and even do a spot of orienteering along the way.
Mrs Wilson and Mrs Parks are very lucky to be joined by another keen explorer Mr Quarton, whom will lead our team to new heights on a Friday.
If any parents or family members would like to join our expedition by sharing their experiences, we would love you to join our crew. Pop along and see us, but watch you don’t fall !!!

During the course of our voyage we will be finding out about some real pirates, how pirates travelled and the kind of journeys they made.
The children will be investigating maps and considering whether Bardney would make a good pirate village.
The children will be asking and answering questions as they try to find an island location for the pirates to hide their booty. Look out for details of pirate day.
In science we will be finding out about light and dark. As part of this we will be investigating different light sources and thinking about how shadows are made.
